What lovely memories and photos. Washington must have been quite affluent in its day. Is the downtown area still thriving? My mother was from Rome, Georgia. She moved to Indiana in high school. My grandparents lived out of town and so we only saw them at holidays. One, I never saw away from her home. She ran a little grocery/ deli in the front of her home. She had nine children, and I think her nurturing nature must have run out during the raising of them. She did love Eisenhower though. My other grandmother lived in Alabama. We might see her on a stop to Florida. Unfortunately we had no close relationship with cousins either. My parents, and as a result my brother and

I , were active in a small Baptist church . We enjoyed the fellowship there and with our neighbors, but missed out on family ties. Everyone in my family is gone now except my son and husband. Your family and childhood sounds ideal and successful.
